Promise students receive the following benefits:

• Free tuition for two years
  Receive free tuition for two years (Fall and Spring Semesters only).*
• Enroll for classes before other students.
  Get priority registration, which allows you to enroll in classes before other students.
• $100 Deposit to a BankMobile Account
  Receive a $100 deposit to your BankMobile account during the Fall and Spring semesters.*
  Deposit to your BankMobile account will be made after the third week of the fall or spring semester, and the Promise staff confirms you completed all the Promise components.
• FREE Chromebook
  Receive a FREE Chromebook that you get to keep.*
• Paid Employment/Internships
  Get help from a career coach and opportunities for paid employment and internships through the LACP Works program.*
• FREE Travel Abroad Opportunity
  A travel abroad opportunity to eligible participants through the MaYa Program.*
• First Year Experience Program (FYE) & Second Year Experience (SYE)
  Be a part of LAVC’s First Year Experience (FYE) Program and Second Year Experience (SYE) Program that offers academic support services to help you be successful in for first TWO years of college:

  • Access to Coaches and Mentors
    Get exclusive access to success coaches and mentors to help you succeed at LAVC. The coach will connect you to your Career and Academic Pathway (CAP) team for personalized support and resources related to your major and your mentor will help you acclimate to the academic and social expectations of college life.

  • Free Tutoring and Success Workshops
    Receive free academic tutoring and free workshops that help prepare you to transfer to a university, explore career options, learn about financial aid, and improve your writing skills.
  • Campus Activities
    Get involved and stay connected outside of the classroom by attending campus activities. Our Associated Student Union (ASU/ASO) offers many great opportunities to be engaged on campus, whether by joining a club or attending campus events.
