TRiO Eligibility & Application


1. Are you eligible?

Must meet at least 1 or more of the following:

  • First generation college student — neither parent has a bachelor’s degree from a university/college
  • Income Eligible— according to federal guidelines
  • Have a documented disability (If Applicable) or
  • Academic need
     

2. Complete application and have verification of your income from the most recent tax year (if dependent, your parents)

The application must be completed online.

Don’t forget to upload your income information before you submit your application. The information you will need is your 1040 (if applicable) or your parents 1040.

3. Take the TRiO academic assessment check

The TRiO program has a simple diagnostic check that will help us understand how to better help you with your study skills. This diagnostic check will be given after the interview.

4. Have documentation of your disability (if applicable)

You must supply the TRiO office with documentation of a disability if that determines you’re eligibility. Upload option in application.

5. Schedule and appointment with the TRiO counselor

When the application and income tax verification is turned in, a staff member will schedule you for an appointment with the TRiO director & counselor. They will review all the information provided by you to determine your eligibility and admit you into the TRiO program as a TRiO student. You will then complete an Intake Packet which includes Program Expectations, Participant Responsibility Contract, Release of Information form and Academic Needs form.
