$1000 Federal Awards for Students with Financial Aid

Every LA Valley College student enrolled for Spring 2022 who qualifies for financial aid is eligible to receive up to a $1000 federal stimulus award. To receive the award, you must:

  • Have LAVC as your home campus,
  • Be enrolled at Valley College for Spring 2022, AND
  • Be eligible for the FAFSA, California College Promise Grant (fee waiver), Dream Act Grant, or demonstrate economic hardship resulting from COVID-19

If you haven't already applied for financial aid, complete your Free Application for Federal Student (FAFSA) application (LAVC code is 001228) or complete the California College Promise Grant Application. If you need assistance, contact the Welcome Center.

Students who meet the requirements will be notified when the federal stimulus is awarded.

There is still time to enroll in Spring classes! Search for open in-person, online or hybrid class on our Spring 2022 Schedule. Once you find a open class, be sure to register online through the mycollege.laccd.edu Portal. If you need registration assistance or have questions, contact our Welcome Center.

Drop-In Counseling Services are Available

Need a speak with an academic counselor? The Counseling Department is available on a first-come, first-served basis for Spring 2022 online and in-person counseling (no appointments required). To access online counseling and how to get in-person counseling, visit the Counseling Department.

Get vaccinated or boosted at Valley College! Come to our COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic to get the Pfizer (ages 12+) and Moderna (ages 18+) vaccines and third dose or booster. LAVC students and employees are eligible to receive a $150 Bookstore Gift Card with each vaccine or booster dose on campus. Appointments are available and walks-up are welcomed. Announcements for Students

All LAVC students are eligible to get a free Metro GoPass to ride all buses and trains operated by Metro between December 1, 2021-December 31, 2022. Stop by the LAVC Business Office with your ID to pick up your pass.

LAVC Cooperative Education is offering up to four (4) CSU transferrable elective units for your job, internship or volunteer experience during the Spring 2022 semester. You must be enrolled in another course (at LAVC or any other accredited institution) to participate. If you're interested, submit a completed Coop application in person or via email. Extended Opportunities Programs & Services (EOPS) is now accepting applications for new students through Sunday, February 27 at 11:59 p.m. Eligible students receive helpful counseling, priority registration, funds to help pay for textbooks and more. The Office of Student Life is looking for energetic, helpful, and assertive student workers. We would love to meet you! Visit the Office of Student Life at the Student Union Building, 2nd floor to pick up a paper application and get more information. Deadline to apply is Thursday, February 17 at 5 p.m.

Are you interested in Student Government? Join the Associated Student Union (ASU) and represent the student body working with students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Perks are a transcript notation and monthly stipend. Apply by Sunday, February 27 at 11:59 p.m. Visit the ASU to apply.

The Valley College Foundation has over 250 Scholarships with over $160,000 available! Applications will be accepted starting on Monday, February 7. To apply, log in to your LACCD Student Portal.
