President's Day - Holiday

Friday, February 14 - Monday, February 17

LAVC is closed and classes are not in session from February 14-17 in observance of the President's Day weekend. Classes will be in session and college services will resume their normal hours of operation on Tuesday, February 18.


BHM: Rhythms of Healing Workshop

Umoja Black Scholars is holding a mental health workshop facilitated by Dana Mason, holistic mental health healer & wellness coach, and Dr. James Norris, therapist & mental health expert. Come engage in activities that promote relaxation and well-being through music and mindfulness.

BHM: African Drum Making and Naming Workshop

Wednesday, February 19 at 2-4 p.m.

Join Umoja Black Scholars for an African Drum Making and Naming Ceremony. It involves skillfully crafting drums, followed by a communal naming ritual that symbolizes the instrument's spiritual significance and its role in community life. All materials will be provided.

Basketball vs. Bakersfield College

Women’s Game: Wednesday, February 19 at 5 p.m.
Men’s Game: Wednesday, February 19 at 7 p.m.

Come watch the Monarchs Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams play a conference games versus Bakersfield College. Tip off for the Lady Monarchs is 5 p.m., and then the Men play at 7 p.m. Free admission to the games.

LAVC’s Academic Resource Center (ARC) is offering a FREE weekly online Math 227: Statistics workshop series. Each session is tailored to the content being taught by your Math 227 professor, so you understand the content and earn higher grades. This week’s topic is a “Review Ch. 1 Vocabulary.”

The Welcome Center is open Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. & Friday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. (except on holidays).


How can I reset my password to the Student Portal?

You can reset your password yourself by using the Microsoft Self-Service Password Reset. Here’s the steps:

  1. Set up your account to allow you to reset your password (follow these instructions).
  2. Go to the Student Portal login page and click on the “Forget your password?” option. Follow the message prompts to reset your password.

What is the best way to reach Admissions & Records?

If you want to speak with an Admissions & Records representative, you can live chat on the Admissions & Records on Cranium Café, or visit their office in the Student Services Center, 1st Floor Lobby during business hours.


How do I get my transcript?
You may order official transcripts and/or verifications of enrollment one of the following ways:

  • Online: Official transcripts may be ordered online through Parchment.
  • In-Person: You may order your official transcripts and/or verification of enrollment in person at the Admissions and Records Office. Payment is accepted in cash, money order, or credit/debit card.

If you want to view your unofficial transcript, you can do so for FREE through the Student Information System.

Come to the “Properties of Functions, Library of Functions & Piecewise, Graphing Techniques” workshop. This session is tailored to the content being taught by your Math 259/260 to help you prepare for test and exams, understand the content and earn higher grades.
