LA Valley College Counseling Department is currently offering the following remote/online services: 

  • Scheduled Counseling Appointments for in depth counseling, review of academic records, evaluation of transcripts, educational planning and other questions.
  • Prerequisite Clearance: From your LACCD Student Email Account, sent email to prerequisites@lavc.edu  and submit copies of your unofficial transcripts and the completed LAVC Prerequisite Clearance form.  Make sure to lists the targeted course(s) you plan to enroll in.  A counselor will review and clear requested prerequisite(s) within 48 hours, based on your previous course(s) taken.
  • Permission for Excess Units: From your LACCD Student Email Account, send email to prerequisites@lavc.edu, including your name, student ID#, Course Name/#, Permission Code from Instructor, and total units requested for enrollment.
  • Counseling Online Help Desk through Live Chat via Cranium CafĂ©* for quick questions.  Please note, during Live Chat we cannot access your academic records, review your transcripts or create educational plans.
  • Zoom Group Counseling Drop-in Hours for general quick questions. Please note: during Zoom Group Counseling Drop-in Hours we cannot access your academic records, review your transcripts or create educational plans.  See schedule below:
