Los Angeles Valley College Counseling Department is currently offering the following remote/online, and in-person services: 

  • Scheduled video or phone Counseling Appointments for in depth counseling, review of academic records, evaluation of transcripts, educational planning, petition to graduate and other questions.
  • In-person same - day counseling on a first - come - first - served basis.  Wait times may vary depending upon demand and counselor availability.
  • Prerequisite Clearance:   If you are attempting to enroll in a course that has a prerequisite, which you have completed at another college/university, or through AP/CLEP credits, follow the instructions on how to request a Prerequisite Clearance.  Allow   3-5 business days to receive a response. 
  • Permission for Excess Units: You may enroll in up to 19 units for Fall/Spring semester and up to 9 units for Winter/Summer intersession.  To enroll in additional units, follow the instructions on how to request a Permission for Excess Units.  Allow 3-5 business days to receive a response.
  • Counseling Online Help Desk through Live Chat via Cranium CafĂ© for quick questions.  Please note, during Live Chat we cannot access your academic records, review your transcripts or create educational plans.
