Behavioral Health Services
Los Angeles Valley College Student Health Center, operated by Valley Community Healthcare offers Behavioral Health Services to students that have paid their $19 Semester Health Fee.
With a referral from a Primary Care Provider, students work with a Behavioral Health Clinician to provide a holistic approach to treatment. Providing access to comprehensive outpatient counseling on mental health and emotional health issues, and substance abuse counseling for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Students can receive up to 12 visits per semester with a therapist.
Experienced Behavioral Therapists assist students in managing concerns in their everyday lives in a private and confidential setting. These may include:
▪ Depression
▪ Anxiety
▪ Abuse
▪ Addiction
▪ Family or Relationship Conflicts
Therapists can provide crisis interventions. They will work with the student to discuss their situation, explore ideas, and attempt to arrive at a resolution, and provide referrals to community resources. No information regarding counseling sessions will be revealed without the student’s written permission or as mandated by law.
