COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement & Screening/Campus Check-In

The Los Angeles Community College District has COVID-19 Vaccination & Testing requirements for students and employees to be able to access college and District facilities.

As a reminder, keep your vaccination up-to-date by getting a booster as soon as you are eligible, and then upload your record into your Cleared4 account. If you're eligible but haven't gotten your booster yet, come to our vaccination clinic and receive a $150 Bookstore gift card with your on-campus dose.

Come listen to a lecture and discussion on the "Power of Using Black History 365 Days a Year." Dr. Walker is an internationally recognized scholar, artist and social entrepreneur working in the fields of education, arts and entertainment, community development, self-care, religion, and public history. AAOI Black History Month Celebration

Join the LACCD African American Outreach Initiative (AAOI) for a Black History Month Celebration. Internationally recognized public health/social justice leader Dr. Stephaun E. Wallace will keynote the 2022 AAOI Black History Month Celebration. In addition to recently being featured on Bill Gates’ "Heroes in the Field" series, Dr. Wallace serves on the board of numerous organizations including the American Public Health Association, The America Bar Association, and the National Society of Leadership and Access. The campus is closed from Friday, February 18 to Monday, February 21 for the President's Day holiday weekend. Campus offices and services will reopen, and classes will resume on Tuesday, February 22.

Come in-person to the 23rd Annual Black College Expo on Saturday, February 19 at Los Angeles Convention Center. High school seniors and juniors, and college transfer students can meet one-on-one with top HBCUs and a variety of other colleges and universities and get answers right on the spot. Announcements for Students

On-campus student parking is FREE during the Spring semester. A parking permit is not required in student parking spaces. Students should park only in a student parking stall, and not in any spaces marked “Staff” or “Reserved.”

The Valley College Foundation has over 250 Scholarships with over $160,000 available! To apply, log in to your LACCD Student Portal. Click on the “Scholarship Tile”, and then click on “Login Here” next to the Student Log In. Email the LAVC Foundation or call 818-947-2619 with questions.

Every LA Valley College student enrolled for Spring 2022 who qualifies for financial aid is eligible to receive up to a $1000 federal stimulus award. To receive the award, you must:

  • Have LAVC as your home campus,
  • Be enrolled at Valley College for Spring 2022, AND
  • Be eligible for the FAFSA, California College Promise Grant (fee waiver), Dream Act Grant, or demonstrate economic hardship resulting from COVID-19

If you haven't applied for financial aid, complete your Free Application for Federal Student (FAFSA) application (LAVC code is 001228) or complete the California College Promise Grant Application. If you need assistance, contact the Welcome Center.

Students who meet the requirements will be notified when the federal stimulus is awarded.

All LAVC students are eligible to get a FREE Metro GoPass to ride all buses and trains operated by Metro between December 1, 2021-December 31, 2022. Stop by the LAVC Business Office with your ID to pick up your pass.

Students at Valley College can once again enjoy the culinary offerings at Monarch Cafe! Patrons are encouraged to visit the Monarch Cafe and take advantage of the new contactless ordering system. Monarch Café is located in the Student Union building and our hours of operation are: Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
