African Drum Making and Naming Workshop

Join Umoja Black Scholars for an African Drum Making and Naming Ceremony, which involves skillfully crafting drums, followed by a communal naming ritual that symbolizes the instrument's spiritual significance and its role in community life. All materials will be provided.

Umoja Black Scholars Program and the Art Department invite you to a Sneaker Ball. The event will feature music, food, and cultural appreciation. Attendees are encouraging to wear sneakers.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

The American Red Cross Blood Mobile is on campus. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to donate blood. Blood donors are critically needed due to an emergency blood shortage.

President's Day - Holiday
Friday, February 14 - Monday, February 17
LAVC is closed and classes are not in session from February 14-17 in observance of the President's Day weekend. Classes will be in session and college services will resume their normal hours of operation on Tuesday, February 18.

I can’t log into the Portal. How can I reset my password?
You can reset your password yourself by using the Microsoft Self-Service Password Reset. Here’s the steps:
- Set up your account to allow you to reset your password (follow these instructions).
- Go to the Student Portal login page and click on the “Forget your password?” option. Follow the message prompts to reset your password.

How do I log onto Cranium Café?
You can use Cranium Café to connect with a college service or program. Follow these steps to log into Cranium Café:
- Find the department lobby that you wish to enter (for example, https://laccd.craniumcafe.com/group/admissions-/lobby)
- Agree to the Informed Consent Statement
- Choose either “Current Students” or “Guest Registration” for prospective students (if the Guest option is selected, you will need to register for a quick temporary account)
- Select reason for the visit
- Join lobby and an agent will be with you soon!
Who do I speak to if I have a hold on my account?
You will need to contact the department that has placed the hold. Click on the notification to view the Hold Details, which will specify the department and reason. You can either visit the department in person, or visit their webpage to chat online using Cranium Café. If you need help, contact our Welcome Center to assist you.

Join Student Government! Apply to be an ICC Representative for Spring 2025
This is your chance to represent clubs, serve as a voting member in the Executive Council, and co-chair Inter-Club Council meetings. Appointed representatives receive a monthly stipend and transcript notation. Applications are open for the ICC Representative position in Student Government for Spring 2025, serving until June 30, 2025. Apply now by February 14, 2024, at 1 p.m.! LAVC Child Development Center is Now Accepting Applications for Children
The Child Development Center is now accepting applications for the Spring semester for the Preschool program (2-4 years) and the School Age After-School Program (TK-6th grade). For more information and to request an application, please contact the Child Development Center.
