My name is Ruth Vasquez; I am a first-generation college student who started at Los Angeles City College. I have always had an interest in career counseling and believe it is important for students to explore and find how their Interests, strengths, and skills can lead them to a fulfilling career. I enjoy reading books, playing the guitar, and listening to Salsa and Bachata.

My name is Holly Batty, and I have been the Puente English Instructor for five years. I transfered from LAVC to UCLA in 2007 and continued working as a tutor in the Writing Center. I'm currently Vice Chair of the English department. I believe that all students can produce great writing through the magic of revision. I have dozens of house plants and two dogs named Buffy and Newt.
