BLACK HISTORY MONTH (BHM): Come learn about the Umoja Black Scholars program at LA Valley College. The Umoja Orientation is designed to introduce students to the Umoja community, a program dedicated to supporting the academic success and personal growth of Black students in higher education.

This engaging session provides an overview of Umoja’s mission, values, and resources, including culturally relevant curriculum, mentorship opportunities, and student support services. Attendees will learn how Umoja fosters a sense of belonging, empowerment, and leadership through academic excellence and community engagement. The orientation serves as a welcoming space for students to connect, set goals, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and achievement within a supportive environment.
