About Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD)

One District, Nine Colleges

Los Angeles Valley College is part of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). As one of the LACCD nine campuses, it is part of the largest community college district in the Nation.

From the San Fernando Valley to the Eastside to the Beach, the LACCD serves students in 40 cities and communities in the city of Los Angeles.

The LACCD educates almost three times as many Latino students and nearly four times as many African-American students as all of the University of California campuses combined. In addition, 88 percent of LACCD students are from underserved populations.

The Benefit to LA Valley College Students

One of the advantages of being part of LACCD is that all LA Valley College students have the flexibility to enroll in classes at other colleges in our District.

No need to fill out separate college applications! LAVC students can choose from thousands of classes at nine college campuses to help them stay on track and take the classes they need to graduate, transfer or prepare for a job.

Students can easily search the LACCD SIS Portal to find available classes at LAVC and our sister campuses.
