LAVC Faculty Member June Edmonds Named a 2022 Guggenheim Fellow

Congratulations to June Edmonds, artist and faculty member in the LAVC Art Department, for being selected as a 2022 Guggenheim Fellow in the study of Fine Arts by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Professor Edmonds is an abstract painter with work held in collections throughout the United States, and teaches acrylic painting at LAVC.

Get your COVID-19 vaccine or booster dose and a $150 LAVC Bookstore gift cards at our Vaccine Clinic! The clinic offers the Pfizer (ages 12+), Moderna (ages 18+), Janssen (ages 18+), and Pfizer Pediatric (ages 5-11) vaccines. Only LAVC students and employees are eligible to receive a $150 Bookstore Gift Card with each on-campus vaccine or booster dose. Appointments are available and walks-up are welcomed. Check your college email for a message on the "LACCD Student Housing Survey" from the Los Angeles Community College District for the link to the special survey on Preferred Housing for Students.

Share your poetry, short stories, and essays at the LAVC Humanities & Communications CAP Spring 2022 Writing Conference, "Rebuilding," on Monday, May 16 on Zoom at 1:30 p.m. Prizes of $250, $150, and $50 will be given to the award-winning entries. Completed applications with attached writing should be submitted no later than Friday, May 6.

Join the Humanities & Communications Career & Academic Pathway (CAP) for a day at the theater to see the musical Hadestown on May 21. Free tickets to the first 50 students to sign up (deadline is 5/7)! Bus transportation will be provided.
