Students and employees can get up to two FREE Covid-19 at-home rapid antigen testing kits per person, each week at the designated Antigen Test pick up location; Theatre & Music students can pick up 3 kits per student, per week. Sexual Assault Awareness Workshop

April is Sexual Assualt Awareness Month (SAAM). Student Health Education is sponsoring a workshop presented by Strength United. Join us to learn how to define sexual assault and its different forms. Learn the myths and truths about this issue. LAVC Student Health Center Therapist, Allison Lopez, will be available to answer any questions after the presentation. Resources will be available to help you or someone you know.  Register online for Sexual Assault Awareness Workshop.

Get your COVID-19 vaccine or booster dose and a $150 LAVC Bookstore gift cards at our Vaccine Clinic! The clinic offers the Pfizer (ages 12+), Moderna (ages 18+), Janssen (ages 18+), and Pfizer Pediatric (ages 5-11) vaccines. Only LAVC students and employees are eligible to receive a $150 Bookstore Gift Card with each on-campus vaccine or booster dose. Appointments are available and walks-up are welcomed. Announcement for Students

Class of 2022 Gradutes—Reserve Your Spot for the 2022 Graduation Ceremony by May 1 

Students who petitioned for graduation by the March 11th graduation should have received an email (to your student email) with instructions on how to reserve your spot and request tickets for your family/friends at the LAVC Graduation 2022 ceremony on Tuesday, June 7 at 9am at Monarch Stadium.  Graduates are required to wear a black cap and gown to the ceremony. Win up to $250 to the LAVC Bookstore for sharing your poetry, short stories, and essays at the Humanities & Communications Spring 2022 Writing Conference, “Rebuilding,” on Monday, May 16 (via Zoom at 1:30 p.m.). Completed applications with attached writing should be submitted no later than Friday, May 6th.

Get College Credit for Your Job & Internship Experience this Summer!

LAVC Cooperative Education is offering up to four (4) CSU transferrable elective units for your job, internship, or volunteer experience during Summer 2022. To participate, you do not have to be enrolled in another course (at LAVC or any other accredited institution). If you're interested, submit a completed Coop application in person or via email. Enrollment is by permission number only. Apply to become a Pespi Uplfit Scholar and receive: (1) up to $2,500 in scholarship and emergency aid, (2) career and academic advising, and (3) access to mentorship, internships and job opportunities. Applicants must major in information technology, manufacturing, auto technology and transportation, e-commerce, logistic, sales, marketing, or other closely related majors. Outdoor Movie Night

Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. on the North Mall

Join us for Outdoor Movie Night, featuring West Side Story on Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the “North Mall” (lawn in front of the Art building). Free Kona Ice, Sharky’s, and Subway! 100 chairs will be available, but feel free to bring your own picnic blanket. All are welcome!
