Spring 24 Wellness Events

Student Health Education invites you to join the In-Person or On-Line Wellness events happening this Spring.

Mindfulness is our ability to pay attention to the present moment with curiosity & without judgement.

Joins us from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Every session will focus on a different topic. We share videos of guided meditations and discuss the benefit of centering the mind, body, and spirit.

Embrace the tranquility and let your mind find its center. We provide headphones with soothing sounds, a mat, an eye mask so you can hit pause on your day and improve your well-being. Emergency Blood Shortage

The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage as the nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. Your blood donation is needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure life saving medical procedures are not delayed.

Regain Your Balance: Let's Talk About Anxiety

Date & Time: Thursday, March 14 from 1:00PM - 2:00PM

Join Chere Bushae, USC MSW intern, who will present an information session on anxiety. Learn the definition, impact, and triggers of anxiety. Come away empowered with copings skills and techniques to reduce anxiety in your life.

Rockin' Rock Art with Abilities

Opioid Use Disorder Intervention

Nearly 7,000 people died from opioid use in 2022. Join us to find out how you may be able to save a life. This is an American Crisis and it affects all of us.

Tarzana Treatment Centers will present on the disorder, treatment options, and the use of Naloxone, a life-saving drug that reverses the effects of opioids like heroin and fentanyl.

Denim Day: Sexual Assault Awareness

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Take a stand against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual harassment, abuse, assault and rape. Strength United, supporter of survivors of sexual violence, will guide the information session.  

Wear your DENIM in support of survivors and to be entered to win LAVC merch.

Lunch will be provided after the event.

Plants Are Good For You

Interaction with outdoor and indoor plants may reduce psychological and physiological stress. 

Student Health is partnering up with ASU to bring you this wellness event. Start your Plants for Wellness journey with us. Paint a clay pot, transfer your plant and take it home to enhance your well-being. All materials will be provided.

Snacks will be provided. ASU will have FREE BOBBA for paid ASU members. To find out about additional benefits of paying the ASU Fee, contact the Office of Student Life.

Welcome Week: Vision Board Con Corazon Workshop

Creating Healthy Relationships Seminar

  • Types of relationships, red flags and warning signs of unhealthy relationships
  • Setting boundaries + positive communication
  • Values, positive coping, healthy strategies, and affirming and loving yourself
