Pasadena Tournament, November 15-17 - The Monarchs won two out of their three match ups taking home third place. They opened the tournament with a win against LA Southwest College 64-60. Christian Hodge scored 15 points and added 16 rebounds and Micah Cooper finished with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Kody Knox scored 17 points in the second game of the tournament as the Monarchs lost a tough game against Pasadena 65-60. On the final game of the tournament, Hodge grabbed 13 rebounds and scored 16 points earning all tournament for the second straight year.
First Home Game - Thursday, November 8, 2018 - The Monarchs played an early home game against LA Trade Tech. LA Valley was down 10 points early in the first half but managed to get the lead before halftime. Christian Hodge finished the half with a fast break dunk putting the Monarchs up 41 -39. LA Valley College built a 10 point lead in the second half behind 27 point performance by Micah Cooper. The Monarchs had three players scoring 20 plus points. Kody Knox added 24 points and Christian Hodge finished with 22 points as the Monarchs beat LA Trade Tech 93-79 to even their record at 2 and 2.
Ventura College Tournament -November 1 - 3, 2018 - LA Valley College opened their season with a win against Ventura College 80 -70. Freshman Micha Cooper led the way scoring 25 points off the bench. Cooper made 7 of 8 shots that included 4 of 4 from the three point line, 7 out of 7 free throws and he added 5 rebounds and 4 assist. The second game of the tournament the Monarchs lost a close game to Riverside Community College 67-64. Micah Cooper grabbed 8 rebounds and scored 21 points. Final game of the game fell short to the Raiders of Moorpark 78-71. Despite the loss, LA Valley had four players in double figures Kody Knox 16, Christian Simonia 13, Christian Hodge 12, Micah Cooper 12.
December 14-16 - The Monarchs played in the LA Southwest Intensity Tournament. The first game the Monarchs lost to Santa Ana College. Freshman Christian Hodge led the team with 11 points and 11 rebounds. On the second day of the tournament the Monarchs beat the Vaqueros of Santa Barbara City College 76-42. Four of the five starters finished with double figures. The Monarchs advanced to the consolation championship game versus Allan Hancock College. Christian Hodge scored 17 and finished with 11 rebounds to lead the way, but the Monarchs were not able to capitalized in a close game losing 65 - 62. DJ Walker added 18 points and six rebounds. Christian Hodge earned all tournament for the second time this season.
November 18, 2017 - Freshman Christian Hodge earned all tournament averaging 18 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. Hodge scored a season high of 28 points and grabbed 15 rebounds going 11 for 16 from the field in 25 minutes against El Camino College.
November 16, 2017 - The Monarchs played in the Pasasena Tournament and beat Mt. San Antonio College in the first game 76 - 70 in Overtime. Christian Maratoya scored 23 points, 6 assist and 5 rebounds. Freshman Christian Hodge added 18 points and 5 rebounds.
November 2-3, 2017 - The Monarchs lost their season opener against Palomar 78-95 at the Ventura College Tournament. Sophomore Dj Walker scored a team high of 32 points. Game two was palyed against Ventura College and the Monarchs were outscored 73-59. Dj Walker led the way again with 22 points and Christian Morataya added 17 points.

February 2017 - The sophomores completed their season with a win over Victor Valley College 65-51. Sophomore Kevin Cabrera and Freshman DJ Walker were nominated to the All Conference first team. Sophomore Christian Boone received Honorable Mention.
December 8-10, 2016 - The team heads to the Santa Barbara Tournament and will play against Bakersfield College at 3:00 pm.
December 1-3, 2016 - The Monarchs prepared for the Wild West Shootout tournament at West LA College and earned its second win the off the season against Long Beach City College in a scrappy game 67-65. Jhordanno Henriquez made 7 of 8 field gaols and finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds. DJ Walker added 23 points and 7 rebounds. In the second game of the tournament the Monarchs faced of against West LA College. Christian Boone scored a season high of 15 points, 4 rebounds and two steals. DJ Walker made 16 points, Elijah Kirkland Cuffe with 12 points and Jhordanno Henriquez added 11 points. However, the Monarchs fell short 81-68 to West LA. The Monarchs played in the third place game vs EC Compton College and lost 65-52.
Wednesday, November 22, 2016 - Coach Watson's Mens basketball team played agaisnt his former team of Ventera College. The Monarchs played a tough game falling short in overtime 76-74. Kevin Cabrera fouled out in overtime and finished with 28 points, making three of six three pointers. DJ Walked added a double double as he finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
WEDNESDAY,NOVEMBER 16, 2016- The Monarchs got their first win against the Condors of Oxnard College 83-69. The monarchs were down 13 points early in the game with nine minutes in the fisrt half, but kept working hard and continued to chip at the lead and were only down 33-27 at half time. In the second half, the Monarchs made ajustments on defense and shared the ball making 56 points. Sophomore Christian Boone played a solid game and finished with nine points, six assist, five rebounds and two steals. Freshman DJ Walked continued to play well adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. In addition, Elijah Kirkland Cuffee grab 8 rebounds and 13 points, Kevin Cabrera finished with 17 points and off the bench Tyler Williams added 17 points.
NOVEMBER 3-4, 2016 The 2016-17 season kicked off as the Monarchs traveled to Ventura College and played in the We Play Hard Tournament. The Monarchs dropped their first two games of the tournament to Ventura College 94-83 and to Pasadena College 83-59. Freshman DJ Walker led the way averaging 14.5 points per game and five rebounds per game. Sophomre Kevin Cabrera added 13.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game.

FEB 2016 - All eight (8) sophomore showed up and were acknowledge as well as honored in a brief ceremony with their friends and families before the start of the game. Way to send off the Sophomores in style with a Big Win Monarchs! GO MONARCHS!

FEBRUARY, 2016 -The Monarch basketball family is proud to announce that Michael Morrissey was named 1st Team all Conference and received honorable mention to the California All-State Team. Isaiah Copper and Taturs Maberry were honorable mentions. Great job Monarchs!

FEBRUARY, 2016 - The Los Angeles Valley College Men's basketball team finished the regular season winning three (3) out of the their final four (4) games. The Monarchs finish the season tied for 3rd place in the South Division of the Western State Conference. Great accomplishment being that the conference is among one of the toughest conferences in the state of California. The victories came against Antelope Valley College, (78-66) on Breast Cancer Awareness Night, College of the Canyons (64-61) and in the regular season finale Glendale Community College (66-52) on Sophomore Night.

DECEMBER, 2015 - December 9, 2015--The Monarchs stopped their two game losing streak (Oxnard College 85-87 OT & Ventura College 79-89) with a thrilling victory in a hostile environment this past Friday, December 4, 2015 when they went on the road and defeated L.A. Trade Tech. This victory helped the Monarchs' overall record get back to .500 (3-3). Drew Ruffin helped preserve the victory with a great performance (15 point, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block). The Monarchs' are gearing up for this weekend as they travel to participate in the Santa Barbara Community College Tournament. Their first opponent is College of the Desert on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 3:00 pm. *The Monarchs next game is on Thursday, December 10, 2015 versus College of the Desert at Santa Barbara Community College at 3:00 pm.

NOVEMBER, 2015 - The Monarchs finished strong after a bump in the road during their first game against Santa Barbara Community College (60-67). The Monarchs finished the "We Play Hard Tournament" at Ventura College with two (2) straight wins and took home the Consolation Championship Trophy with wins over Pasadena Community College (76-54) and Orange Coast College (84-79). The Monarch's had one of their named to the All-Tournament Team, Michael Morrissey. Congratulations to the Monarchs for a strong start to their season in finishing the tournament with a 2-1 overall record.

November 5, 2015 -- Monarch family is proud to announce one of their own playing basketball professionally in Europe. Los Angeles Valley College Basketball alumni Forward Andrey Orlov signed with the Kordall Steelers of Luxembourg. Andrey had 25 points and 13 rebounds as he helped the Steelers defeat Telstar in their first league game. Andrey played last season with Nesher in Israel where he averaged 14.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and shot 36% from long range (3 pointers). The Monarch basketball family wants to wish Andrey a great season going forward.
