Getting started is as simple as 1-2-3...

STEP 1:  Complete Your Placement, Orientation & Counseling

FIND YOUR PLACEMENT:

NO PLACEMENT TESTS! We have a new process for placement into English and Math courses using your high school coursework, grades, and grade point average.

GO TO ORIENTATION:

Take the LAVC online orientation.

GET COUNSELING / FIRST SEMESTER EDUCATIONAL PLANNING:

Complete your First Semester Educational Planning online, or make an appointment for an in-person session conducted by a counselor with the LAVC Counseling Department.

STEP 2:  Choose Your Classes, Register & Pay Fees

PICK YOUR CLASSES:

Before your appointment, check the LAVC Schedule of Classes (no login required) to find our what classes are being offered.

REGISTER ONLINE:

On (or after) your registration appointment, enroll ONLINE in classes through the LACCD Student Portal

TIP: If the class you want is listed as full, you can ask the instructor to add the class at the first class meeting. If you recieve a permission number, enroll in the course by enter it in the LACCD Student Portal by the deadline.

PAY FEES:

Pay your fees and buy a parking permit ONLINE through the LACCD Student Portal, or pay in person at the LAVC Business Office (SU 143).

STEP 3:  You're All Set! All you need to do is...

GET YOUR STUDENT ID:

Pay for your classes and show your Registration/Fee Receipt to obtain a Student ID in the LAVC Admissions & Records Office (Student Services Center, 1st Floor).

BUY/RENT TEXTBOOKS:

You can purchase or rent your textbooks for your classes at the LAVC Monarch Campus Store (SU 150).
