Healthcare Careers with an Associate Degree or Less

Learn about careers in healthcare that you can pursue with an associate degree or less. Hear from a panel that includes a Dental Hygienist, Emergency Medical Technician, Physical Therapy Aide, and Respiratory Therapist.


ASU Thankful Thanksgiving Grocery Cards

Thanksgiving Holiday (Campus Closed) 

November 26-29 

LAVC classes are not in session, and virtual college services are closed from Thursday-Sunday, November 26-29 due to the Thanksgiving holiday on. Classes will resume and college services will reopen on Monday, November 30.  

Love and Information by Caryl Churchill 

Saturday, November 28 at 7 p.m. & Saturday, December 5 at 7 p.m. 


The LAVC Theater Arts Department proudly presents Love and Information by Caryl Churchill. This play is a series of interactions between characters not identified by age, gender, race or name. Twenty LAVC students explore how we make sense of love and information in our lives. Tickets are free, but advanced registration is required. Please email Jennifer Read to register for this intriguing event. 


Annual Art Student Exhibition - LAUNCH20 

Until December 30 


The LAVC Art Gallery proudly presents an annual exhibition of student works produced in the LAVC Art Department. This year’s online LAUNCH20 exhibit includes 72 works selected from 40 student artists featuring a wide range of media and techniques. For many students in the exhibition, this is their first opportunity to have their work recognized on a professional platform. View the Launch20 Virtual Exhibition.


Virtual Art Exhibition – MMXX: Art Faculty Biennial 
Until December 30 


The LAVC Art Gallery proudly presents MMXX: Art Faculty Biennial Exhibition, a virtual exhibit of works created by LAVC Art Faculty Carol Bishop, Jamison Carter, Phung Huynh, Jenene Nagy, and Katie Queen. The gallery will also produce a catalogue designed by Professor Tom Mossman. This exhibition and catalogue are funded in part through the generosity of the June Harwood Grant.

A workshop to help you learn how sentences are structured and introduces the main sentence patterns determined by the functions of subject, predicate/verb, object, and modifiers.

Art Talk 2020

Join Puente students as they share their interpretations of pieces from the LAVC Art Gallery’s Launch20 Exhibition.   


Run-Ons and Punctuation Workshop 
Saturday, December 5 from 10-11:30 a.m. 

This workshop will explain the ways to correct the fused and the comma-splice run-ons with a proper use of conjunction and/or punctuation. 


Validating Sources and Integrating Quotes Workshop 
Saturday. December 5 from 10-11:30 a.m.

This workshop presents the importance of integrating quotes from credible sources to support the writer’s claim.
