Welcome Back to the 2018-2019 Academic Year!

Opening Day 2018Both classified staff and faculty had a rousing return to campus with their Opening Days. President Erika Endrijonas addressed us with a presentation about C.H.A.N.G.E.! So many ch-ch-ch-changes!

Faculty spent the day working on Guided Pathways, clustering the majors, and discussing topics such as supporting students on their path, discipline advising, and communication. Classified staff participated in a game show review of important student services provided on campus. A good and productive time was had by all.

Don't forget to RSVP for the Implicit Bias Workshop on September 14 from 9-11:30 a.m. in Monarch Hall!  Please register online as soon as possible, so that we can have a headcount for lunch.

Also, LAVC will have a visit from a PRT (Partnership Resource Team) on September 29 to help us examine our campus-wide professional development needs for faculty as well as staff. The feedback of the PRT will help us to develop effective training activities for employees.
