Meet Pilot Saraceno our new tutor at the Math Lab

Pilot Saraceno is a new tutor at the Math Lab and is available to help you  with algebra, pre-calculus, and trigonometry.

She has spent hours upon hours studying, attending lectures and office hours, and going to tutoring sessions to maintain straight A’s. This hard work and perseverance have paid off as she has been  accepted into UCLA at 16 years old and will be attending in the Fall of 2022.  She is planning on becoming a Business Econ major. She is an actress and musician, and also love spending her free time watching old movies and reading.

When she was taking precalc, she spent so much time in the math lab as a student and all the tutors were so helpful. She believws that the tutors were a major contributing factor to her high grades in the class, and she wants to help other students in the same way they helped her.

Her success tips include: Plan ahead! Time management will help you succeed and make the class more enjoyable. Additionally, don’t be afraid to communicate with your professor and other students in the class.

Pilot is available on Mondays and Wednesdays 11:00am -2:00pm.

This semester the Math Lab is excited to use a new online tutoring program called Penji that integrates with Zoom and will make accessing online tutoring easy. Here’s a short video that explains how to get started. After watching the video, either sign-in on the web app or through your mobile device (iOS and Android), follow the steps outlined in the video, and select the “LAVC Math Lab” for your community
