Fay brings her passion for education and wealth of talent to the Academic Resource Center

Farzaneh Sheikholeslami, whom everyone knows as Fay, was born and raised in Iran where she received her bachelor’s degree in English literature. After her undergrad, she moved to the UK to pursue her master’s degree in International Tourism Management. In 2011, she moved to LA and started studying at LAVC to get her AA degree in Business and Finance. It was then that she started working as an English tutor at the Writing Center and built her way up to the position of Academic Resource Center faculty supervisor.

Welcome to the Fall Semester 2020. The Academic Resource Center is looking forward to supporting students and faculty. The ARC is providing tutoring and computer support with online live, real-time tutoring and support for the Computer Commons, Math Lab, Writing Center, and General Tutoring. We are also hosting study jams, test review sessions, and workshops.  Additionally, NetTutor is currently available and provides comprehensive tutorial support for most subjects with help available 24/7 for high demand areas.  Scroll down on the main page for workshop dates and links to specific ARC website for additional resources. Continue reading for FAQs.

The Academic Resource Center offers FREE weekly workshops to help students pass their classes!  

Writing Workshops are offered every Wednesday from 1:30pm-3:00pm and Saturday from 10am-11:30am in LARC 212. See the calendar for specific topics. 

Mathematics workshops are offered Monday-Saturday in LARC  212 and 215. See the calendar for topics and times.
