Americas Career Infonet -- Obtain wage and employment trends, and occupational requirements. This site also offers career videos and an extensive resource library.

California Career Cafe -- Features information on identifying strengths and talents, informational facts on career growth and opportunities, ways to get experience to build workplace skills, resources to overcome challenges, steps to get hired, 120 hot career tips for success, and links to Professional Associations to facilitate networking opportunities.

Career Magazine -- Features information about a wide range of careers. Students can access occupational videos and personality assessments.

Career Zone California -- Explore exciting jobs and careers in California.

Eureka -- (You will need to register on-line to use this site. The LAVC Site ID Code is PG2WIRG). Eureka provides information on college majors, descriptions of occupations, resume information and much more.

Hispanic National Internship Program -- Apply for paid internships in your field of study. Internships are throughout the country. Including Los Angeles. All majors are encouraged to apply.

Job Star Career Guides -- This site provides information about educational requirements, job duties, and salary information for a range of occupational fields.

OOH -- Occupational Outlook Handbook – This site provides the complete content of the OOH published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. It describes the training, and work activities for over 200 occupations.

O*NET -- Occupational Information Network –This occupational network database provides detailed information on more than 200 occcupations. It includes job skills, values, and activities pertaining to the field.

UC Berkeley Career Center -- UC Berkeley’s career center provides a list of professional associations and a link to “What Can I Do with a Major In.”

Informational Interviews -- Contact professionals in a field of interest to learn more about an occupation.

Job Shadow -- Get connected. See what it’s like to work in an occupation that interests you by spending half a day at a company or organization “shadowing” a professional in the field. For more information contact the Career/Transfer Center at 818-947-2646.

Salary Calculator -- Find salary information on a field throughout the U.S.

Service Learning -- The LAVC Service Learning program links students with non-profit agencies. Students work as volunteers obtaining experience that relates to their courses. Vault Career Library -- An online career library of industry guides including law, business, and banking, career profiles, internships and college surveys. Also includes great videos. 

What Can I Do With a Major In. . . –This site provides an extensive list of occupations related to specific majors.
