Beginning January, 2014, all individuals will be legally required to have healthcare coverage.  Under healthcare reform, the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare"), health insurance options are made available.   In California, individuals should access ""  Community college students stand to benefit greatly from the new no and low-cost health insurance options that will be available.  These options include:  the ability to join a parent's plan until age 26; expanded Medi-Cal eligibility; tax credits to help pay for health insurance; improved student health insurance plans; and catastrophic plans that provide emergency coverage at a lower upfront cost.
