The MASC, or “Media Arts Student Committee,” is an organization dedicated to providing a forum for students involved in the media arts to network, share ideas, and help each other on projects both in school and out. While currently just focused on the media arts degrees (broadcasting, cinema and media arts), we hope to eventually branch out and en-compass all art-related departments. Meetings take place every Wednesday at 6:00 PM in CC4. Each meeting discusses up-coming events that are open to anyone who is interested. Among the ideas proposed for the future are weekly writer’s groups, screenings of movies, and field trips.
There is a biweekly newsletter that presents, in irreverent form, not only what the MASC is up to, but what is happening in the industry at large, with weekly columns of movie reviews from a variety of members. Outsiders are welcome to contribute. The MASC bulletin board will be updated on a weekly basis. If you are interested in becoming a member of the MASC, feel free to stop by any of our meetings. We’ll be glad to have you.
