Rose Drummond

Associate Professor of History

B.A., M.A., University of California, Los Angeles

Professor Drummond specializes in Latin American History, United States History, Women in History of the United States, and the Humanities. She has taught history as an adjunct professor and had been a long-term substitute at Valley College. She has traveled throughout Europe, the Middle East, Egypt, the United States, and Latin America. She is Recording Secretary of the Los Angeles Faculty Senate. Professor Drummond is a member of the Smithsonian Institute of American Heritage Foundation, and attends lectures and seminars sponsored by the Latin American Center and History Department of UCLA.

Deanna Heikkinen

Assistant Professor of Humanities

Ms. Heikkinen specializes in the Graeco-Roman and Christian periods of Egypt. She is a member of the Tell El-Hibeh archaeological expedition in Middle Egypt. She has and has traveled throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Egypt. She has experience teaching face-to-face and online courses. Ms. Heikkinen is a member of the American Research Center in Egypt, Society of California Archaeology, and the American Institute for Archaeology. She has previously taught at Bakersfield College, College of the Canyons, Taft College, and West Los Angeles College.

Michelle Visco Lewis
Associate Professor of History, Department Chair

Mrs. Lewis specializes in the History of Western Civilization and the History of the World’s Religions. She has led study abroad programs to Florence, Italy, and has traveled throughout the United States and Europe. She has experience teaching face-to-face and online courses. Mrs. Lewis currently serves as the Tau Alpha Epsilon Honors Club faculty co-advisor and as the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society faculty advisor.

Rick Murray

Mr. Murray specializes in United States History and the History of Western Civilization. He has taught at College of the Canyons, Ventura College, El Camino College, Compton College and L.A. Mission College.

Dr. Anthony O’Regan
Professor of Political Science

Ph.D., M.A., University of California, Santa Barbara

Dr. O’Regan specializes in American politics, Latin American politics, International Political Economy, theories of Political and Economic Development, and American Public Administration. He has taught at Cerritos, Pitzer, Los Angeles Mission, Harbor, Valley Community Colleges, Scripps College and the University of California Santa Barbara. He has assisted in editing Latin America in the 1940s and Between the Economy and the Polity, Uruguay 1811-1890.
