Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Do I have to RSVP?

A:   You do not have to tell us whether or not you are coming to the ceremony on Wednesday, June 5th.

 

Q:   Where do I check-in?

A:   Graduating students only report directly to Monarch Hall on Wednesday, June 5th at 3:30 p.m. Be on time. Bring only what you will carry. No personal items can be left in Monarch Hall.  Guests should go directly to Monarch Stadium.

 

Q:   Do I have to purchase invitations or announcements to invite guests?

A:   You do not have to buy invitations in order to invite guests.  However, annoucements are available for purchase at the LAVC Bookstore.

 

Q:   How many guests can I bring?

A:   You can invite as many guests as you want. They do not need tickets.

 

Q:   How do I get a diploma cover?

A:   You will receive a FREE diploma cover at the ceremony.  Only those students who attend the ceremony will receive a diploma cover.  No exceptions.

 

Q:   When will I receive my official diploma?

A:    The Graduation Office will verify that you have completed all the requirements for your degree. Printed diplomas are mailed by the end of the summer. Make sure that your address is updated on the Student Information System. Print out a change of address form on the LAVC Admissions website (the form is also available in the office),  and bring it to the Admissions office.
