Barbara has taught in a wide variety of settings including Mexico and Japan. She has donated hundreds of hours working with abused children who are wards of the Los Angeles Courts. As a parent and a professional, Barbara knows it is so important to feel effective dealing with the inevitable discipline situations.

His Mom and Dad were dead. It was really sad. The baby squirrel wanted to go home but it didn't know the way home. Then a mother bird helped him find home. He was happy and he jumped into bed. He had a good nights sleep. Then he woke up and had breakfast." (Dictated story from a kindergarten girl during storytelling story acting) In a typical storytelling story acting session children dictate and dramatize their stories. This strengthens their oral language development, lays a foundation for literacy development to flourish and helps build empathy. Participants in this workshop will learn how to implement Vivian Paley's, storytelling story acting strategy in their classrooms.
