Access Your Online, Hybrid or Web-Enhanced Class Using Your New Canvas Login and Password!

The way you access Canvas has changed as of August 21, 2017. You will now need to log into Canvas using your SIS/SAP ID login and password to access online, hybrid or web-enhanced LAVC courses.

Access Your Online, Hybrid or Web-Enhanced Class Using Your New Canvas Login and Password!

The LAVC Distance Education Office announced that the Canvas login has changed starting August 21 for all students and faculty.

The Canvas login for Summer 2017 and before no longer work. Students and faculty who wish to access online, hybrid or web-enhanced LAVC courses through Canvas will need to use the same login and password that they use for the SIS Portal or @faculty.laccd.edu email account.

As part of the District-wide upgrade to the new Student Information System (SIS), students and faculty now one single login (user name and password) to access all District systems including the SIS Portal, @faculty.laccd.edu email account, and Canvas.

Canvas is the distance education learning management system that LAVC and its seven sister colleges in the LA Community College District uses for online, hybrid or web-enhanced courses. 

The following are instruction on how to access the new system:
 

INSTRUCTORS

If you don’t have a SIS account, please follow these steps:
  1. Login to https://mycollege.laccd.edu
  2. Set up your SIS account by completing your password registration and update procedures, before you will be able to login to Canvas. Instruction on how to login and and set up your own personalized password.

If you need to reset you Canvas password, just follow the steps to reset your SIS password, since both systems use a single sign-on.
 

STUDENTS

Students should use your SIS Portal login and password that you used when you registered for Fall 2017 online, hybrid or web-enhanced class.
