Online Campus Services & Academic Support

LAVC is now offering a menu of online/remote campus services as well as online academic support to you so you can stay on top of ypur educational goals. From counseling and special programs to tutoring and library services, we’re here and ready to help you online!

Online Student Services

The LAVC Welcome Center, Admissions & Records, Financial Aid, Counseling, Special Programs, High School Outreach, Student Life, and more are available to assist you online. Learn more on our LAVC Online Student Services webpage

Virtual Chat

Let us assist you through our popular online virtual chat feature on the LACCD Student Portal.  Here's how to access the virtual chat:

  1. Log into the LACCD Student Portal
  2. Click on “Online Counseling and Live Chat” tile
  3. Select the department you like to contact.
  4. See what representatives are available to chat with you. ‚Äč(If you don't find the person you need, check back frequently. Hours and availability vary.)
  5. Find who you want to chat with and select "Knock on the Door" to alert them.

Online Academic Support

Free online tutoring is available through NetTutor on Canvas or the SIS portal. For details, visit the LAVC Academic Resource Center's NetTutor webpage.

Remote academic support tutoring services are available by the Academic Resource Center (ARC) through Canvas and Zoom during Summer Session. For self-instructional resources and all updates related to tutoring, visit the LAVC Academic Resource Center  webpage

Online research assistance and research materials is available through the LAVC Library during Summer Session. Get online access to a great variety of research materials including ebooks, articles, movies, tutorials, and more. Librarians are also available via email Monday–Friday (during operating hours) and 24/7 via real-time chat to help you find what they need.
