Congrats to Men's Swimming on its win and to Women's Swimming for its third place overall finish at the WSC Meet #1. The Lady Monarchs of Women's Basketball finished the season with a loss to Ventura in the third round of the WSC Tournament.

LAVC Historical Museum Receives a Digitization Grant

The LAVC Historical Museum was awarded a California Audiovisual Preservation Project grant to digitize the museum's collection of oral interviews of early San Fernando Valley residents. The never previously published interviews were conducted over a span of 13 years by former LAVC historical museum founder and history professor Dr. James Dobson.

Women's Basketball (WSC East Division Champs) beats Riverside in the playoffs to earn a seat at the CCCAA Tournament to play Ventura on March 4 at 7 p.m.; game will be streamed live. Also, congrats to Women's Basketball's Diamond O'Connor for being named WSC East Player of the Year, and Lydia Pope, Emily Chan, Yolanda Ealy and Rebecca Islas for being named to the WSC All-Conference.

LAVC Student Union and Community Services Center Wins AIA-SFV Awards

Congrats to LAVC's Community Services Center on being awarded a AIA SFV Citation Award, and to LAVC's Student Union (Monarch Center construction project) on its AIA SFV Merit Award. This is the second award for the Community Services Center and the fourth award for the Student Union.

Congrats to Women's Basketball on its WSC East Division Championship win! The Lady Monarchs will play round two of Southern California playoffs at home against Riverside on February 24 at 7 p.m. Also, come and cheer on the Monarchs at home as Softball plays Oxnard on February 21 at 1:30 p.m., and Baseball plays a makeup game on February 21 at 2 p.m., and against COC on February 23 at 2 p.m.

The Arbor Day Foundation has named LAVC as a 2016 Tree Campus USA campus. This is the sixth consecutive year the college has been recognized, and it was the first California community college to be honored.
