Did you know that there's a new way to register? Students now need to use the new SIS Student Portal to enter the permission number (no add slips) to be officially added to a class. Visit the New SIS Page to get help on using the new SIS Student Portal and look for classes with open seats.

Have you checked out LAVC's new Events Calendar on the homepage? This new LAVC calendar of events lists the current and upcoming events and academic deadlines at Valley College. Also, departments/programs now have the option to add events to a calendar on their Web site as well as the LAVC college-wide calendar on the homepage.

LAVC Sheriff to Issue All LAVC Temporary Parking Permits

As the new academic year begins, the LAVC Administrative Services Office wants to remind you to display your valid parking permit, and that all temporary parking permits will now only be issued by the Sheriff's Department at LAVC, and temporary permits must be renewed every semester.

Greg Venger Selected as LAVC's New Softball Coach

LAVC Athletics announced that Greg Venger has been named the new women's softball coach for 2018. He starts immediately and will transition from his current role as head women's soccer coach this season.

Matt White Named Head Coach of the Championship LAVC Football Team

LAVC Athletics announced that Matthew White is the new head football coach and a full-time member of the LAVC Kinesiology Department. White has been the interim coach following the departure of former head football coach Robert Tucker in December; he officially started his role as head coach on July 1.

LAVC Student Union Receives a LEED Silver Certification
LAVC Student Union Receives a LEED Silver Certification

LAVC has received a LEED Silver certification for its Student Union building (also called the Monarch Center project) from the U.S. Green Building Council. This is the third LEED Silver-certified building at the college.

LAVC History Professor Publishes a California's Deadliest Earthquakes Book

Congratulations to Adjunct Assistant Professor Abraham Hoffman on publishing a California's Deadliest Earthquakes book! This new book explores personal accounts and aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, 1933 Long Beach earthquake, and 1994 Northridge earthquake.
