Welcome Jermain Pipkins, LAVC's New Dean of Academic Affairs

Jermain Pipkins will be joining the LAVC Office of Academic Affairs as its newest Dean on August 15. He will responsible for curriculum and catalog production for the college, and will be working directly with the college's Communications, Athletics, Kinesiology, English, ESL, Foreign Language, Counseling, Music, and Theater Arts departments. Two LAVC Professors Featured as Speakers at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016

This year's Comic-Con International: San Diego featured presentations by two LAVC professors at its "Teaching the Humanities Through Comics" panel. Professor Deanna Heikkinen spoke on teaching a humanities course that examined 20th Century America through superhero comics, and Professor Michelle Lewis discussed using a graphic novel to teach a college history course.

LA Valley College's Accreditation Status Reaffirmed by the ACCJC

The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) sent formal notification to Los Angeles Valley College that it has reaffirmed the college's accreditation status following a comprehensive evaluation.
