Attention Students! University of California Extends its Transfer Application Deadline

Have you heard? The UC has extended its transfer application deadline to January 3, 2017 for most majors. You're still encouraged to apply during the priority filing period in November since the extension may not apply for certain programs/majors on some UC campuses.

LAVC Receives $50,000 from the College Textbook Affordability Act

LA Valley College is receiving $50,000 from the Textbook Affordability Program to help LAVC faculty create new free or low-cost textbook materials for students. The College Textbook Affordability Act (AB 798) empowers professors at college campuses, like Valley College, to adopt high quality, free and open educational resources for course materials.

L.A.'s "College Promise" Highlighted as an Example for the Nation

Dr. Jill Biden, Second Lady of the United States, and joined LACCD Board President Scott J. Svonkin and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to launch the Los Angeles College Promise on September 14 at Los Angeles City College. The LA College Promise program provides one year of free enrollment to any LACCD college campuses to LAUSD and charter high school seniors graduating in 2017.
