2006 U.S. FOREST SERVICE PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIPS:
Do you like to work outdoors? Are you interested in the environment? Consider a completely new paid learning experience this summer as a student intern with the U.S. Forest Service. Summer internships may lead to career employment with the U.S. Forest Service upon graduation from college.

Time commitment:     approximately 10 weeks in summer 2006
Pay:                             $10-$12 per hour
Housing:                     available ($5/day); includes bed, bathroom, kitchen, access to washer/dryer
                                    shared housing with other student interns
Location:                    One of California’s 18 public forests across the state.

Work Activities:         the U.S. Forest Service offers a variety of field experiences for their student interns, depending on their interests. Work activities include trail maintenance, assisting Forest Service staff in field surveys and water sample collections, fire fighting and assisting wilderness rangers.
