WELCOME TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT Los Angeles Valley College offers programs in Administration of Justice, Fire Technology, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, and Wildland Fire Technology for those interested in these exciting careers or earning an Occupational Certificate, Skills Certificate, AA, and AS degrees. Imagine completing a 128 hour course of study that could lead to a career in such fields as firefighter, paramedic, lifeguard, ambulance driver, or emergency department technician. Upon completion of the Fire Tech 96 (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic) course and passing the National Registry of Medical Technicians, you would be eligible for employment at a private ambulance company.
